Both the total number of trips and the total expenditures were higher in 2017 compared to those in 2015. Of the six listed regions, Europe was the most visited place for wellness tourism in both 2015 and 2017, followed by Asia-Pacific. In 2017, the number of trips to Latin America-The Caribbean was more than five times higher than that to The Middle East-North Africa. While North America was the only region where more than 200 billion dollars was spent in 2015, it was joined by Europe in 2017.
