She just couldn't take her eyes off it. Nor, for that matter, could she wait to try it on. Quickly she slipped off her own plain red coat. She was breathing fast now, she couldn't help it, and her eyes were stretched very wide. But, the feel of that fur! The great black coat seemed to slide onto her almost by itself, like a second skin. It was the strangest feeling! She looked into the mirror. She looked wonderful, beautiful, and rich, all at the same time. And the sense of power that it gave her! In this coat she could walk into any place she wanted and people would come running around her like rabbits. The whole thing was just too wonderful for words!::그녀는 그것에서 눈을 뗄 수가 없었다. 그렇기 때문에 그것을 입어보는 것을 기다릴 수도 없었다. 그녀는 재빨리 자신의 평범한 빨간 코트를 벗어버렸다. 그녀는 지금 가쁘게 숨을 쉬고 있었고, 어쩔 수 없었으며, 눈이 휘둥그레졌다. 그런데, 그 모피의 느낌이란! 그 멋진 검정 코트가 마치 제2의 피부처럼, 거의 저절로 그녀의 몸으로 미끄러져 들어오는 것 같았다. 그것은 가장 이상한 느낌이었다. 그녀는 거울을 바라보았다. 그녀는 한순간에 멋지고 아름답고 부유해 보였다. 그리고 코트가 그녀에게 전해주는 강렬함이란! 이 코트를 입고 그녀는 자신이 원하는 어디든 걸어 들어 갈 수 있고, 사람들은 토끼들처럼 그녀 주위로 달려올 것 같았다. 그 모든 것이 말로 표현하기에는 너무나 멋졌다.
